available languages The term universal should be used sparingly. It is rather unlikely that an earthly "universal power supply unit" is able to get  an electric device on Giroma-Beta 4 going. The terrestrial use of the term "universal" is mostly in regard to advertisement  purposes, occasionally also for the naming of media corporations. With the slogan "music, universal language" mediocre  ad-writers are expressing a universal truth, without knowing so. Music is indeed the most popular and only common form  of culture in the universe. There is hardly a higher developed civilisation, which has no joy listening to intentional created  tones and fat beats. How can it be, that a light-creature on Soluce is grooving with Hammers beats just as Mudst, the  collective earth-creature on Zkweesh-23? It is the desire common to all intelligent life forms of the universe to understand,  to subdivide and to influence time. The entire music of the universe is time, not only the rhythmic part. Also, tones and  harmonies are nothing else than finely staggered time sequences, frequencies which are intentional brought to a defined  oscillation in a certain amount of time. Everything in the universe consists in its smallest unit of the  same basic material, oscillates to the same frequency. Whether your right foot consists mainly of  carbon or whether your kilometre long brain-tentacle is made out of mid-spectrum light - it really doesn't matter from a  universal perspective. Therefore we have, based on the unconscious perceiving of our molecular oscillation and  independently from the physical differences of creatures in the universe, only one emotional similarity: music! Music is more  popular than "love", which anyway dropped in the ranking of universal emotions, since for a fairly long time the emotion:  "VISTECO" (very intense spontaneous temporary commitment) has won through.  However, a visit to the club in the neighbouring solar system  definitely would not make us humans dance, as tone and  frequency spectrum of the offered sounds are of course always  oriented to the biologic features of the respective species. There  are creatures with basses in the wavelengths of light years and  other species want hi-hats in the spectrum of gamma radiation. A  myriad of species can "hear" light and molecular movements, the  pumping bass of the summer hits on the planet SSWII, i.e. is  close to the infrared spectrum, humans could not hear the beat,  but see it instead. The high frequency parts (shaker, sibilant  sound of the singer) of this even at galactic scales exceptional  mix would be immediately mortal for us, as these frequencies  already lay in the area of hard X-rays. Not even a pile of mud  would remain from a human listener after a few beats in a club  on SSWII. A mix, that really not only blows your mind. -- copyright by NOGGFISH 2012   --  contact --  impressum  --
